Picture a small and private tropical island with a white sandy beach, tall palm trees, beautiful flowers, magnificent sunsets and traditional bungalows, surrounded by some of the world’s best coral reefs.
Lissenung Island Resort is a small and private resort is located off Kavieng in New Ireland Province, only 2 degrees south of the equator. The four spread-out bungalows house seven double/twin and single rooms. Six of the rooms have private facilities, for the last room, the share bathrooms are only a short stroll away. Meals are served in the Haus Win, the large main building with open walls, sand floor and local art. It is here where fresh food including crabs, lobster and fish as well as cold drinks await the divers after an exciting day of diving.
The experienced local dive guides at Lissenung, the longest established dive operator in Kavieng, know all the best reef dives, beautiful overgrown walls and sheer drop-offs, but there are also few wrecks and some great muck diving. The boat departs at 9am for two dives in the morning and returns to the island for lunch. In the afternoon, guests can either do another boat dive, relax or do a shore dive on our house reef, which is free of charge until 6pm. So far, more than 175 different fish species have been found on this reef, which makes the free shore diving a nice little added bonus!
With a maximum of 14 guests, personal service is guaranteed and a visit to Lissenung Island Resort is truly exclusive!
